Action 3: Emotional Intelligence

The third action that challenges Business Leaders is Emotional Intelligence.

Emotional Intelligence, or EQ, has been elevated in leadership prominence for a couple decades. A leaders ability to manage their own emotions is paramount not only in managing their relationships, but also growing their teammates, and improving their business opportunities.

But EQ has become something of a buzz phrase, losing its potential impact as a preeminent leadership skillset. I think that is unfortunate. EQ shouldn't be mainstreamed to lose its original intent. If anything, we should create an EQ next level.

Profound Leaders go EQ next level.

Profound Leaders not only have EQ, but they use it to build deep, trusting relationships. Emotional intelligence - and the intuition that comes with years of practicing it - has more power to leverage a corporate culture of respect and collaboration than an entire series of leadership courses combined. Why? Because leadership is about people, and EQ is the source of understanding people.

To go EQ next level, is to take leadership seriously; it is to take yourself seriously. Emotional intelligence begins with self-awareness and self management. It leads to social awareness, and social management. EQ next level can make you a Profound Leader...and a profound culture creator!

Go Be Profound.
