There Are Many Definitions of Leadership

Typically I am less interested in defining leadership as I am in distinguishing quality leadership.

At its basic level, leadership involves an accumulation of skills, and the ability to know when and how to apply those skills.
But great leadership - what I call Profound Leadership - makes an important distinction. Profound Leadership applies those skills to a larger group or vision. In doing so, Profound Leaders create an environment and a culture that is conducive to achieving their goal.
In other words, Profound Leaders change the lives of those whom they lead. They have to...there is no other way to succeed.
For that reason, I like this definition of leadership: the earned opportunity to impact the future of those who trust you.
Beginning August 18, I will be kicking off an 8 week series entitled "8 Things that distinguish Profound Leaders from the rest."
In the series I will address the 8 Biggest Challenges Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs Face in Becoming Profound Leaders, that lead to impacting their environment for success.
One theme per week will be addressed in my Profound Minute and in my social media posts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
Between now and then, ask yourself this, what is your earned opportunity to impact those who trust you?
Go. Be Profound.
